Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz had a rough game against the Seattle Kraken in a loss, and Brandon Carlo didn't make it much better.
Anthony Stolarz and the
Toronto Maple Leafs were in action against the Seattle Kraken tonight, although they lost in overtime 4-3.
It wasn't the best game for Stolarz as he wasn't able to match the performance that gave the Leafs a win over the New York Rangers a few nights ago.
Having said that, the big issue with the Leafs tonight, and the season overall, is that they have no interest in standing up for one another.
That was on full display tonight as Anthony Stolarz got run over by Seattle Kraken forward Jaden Schwartz, right in front of defenseman Brandon Carlo.
Carlo didn't even think about defending his goaltender. Instead, Stolarz went ballistic, pushing the net off its moorings and rushing Schwartz himself.
It was a wild display, and it just goes to show that this Maple Leafs team is failing when it comes to truly defending their guys, including the goalie
This is something that head coach Craig Berube is going to have to address going forward.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, this kind of inaction has to leave you with a bad taste in your mouth, as the team just isn't in the right state of mind.
Of course, this doesn't need to be the status quo. The Maple Leafs can fix this by being more aggressive and proactive.
If they don't fix their ways, then Anthony Stolarz is going to be angry goaltender for the rest of the season.
