New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin had a lot to say after a horrible incident involving Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz.

Anthony Stolarz was almost seriously hurt by a puck on Thursday night as he stopped a shot from JT Miller while maskless.
Typically, the referee must call the play dead when a goalie's mask comes off. However, there is an exception made in the case of an immediate scoring chance.
Stolarz spoke about this rule after the game, noting just how dangerous it truly is.
«This is the second time it's happened. Happened to Adin Hill the other night as well. So, hopefully we can find a compromise. It's not like goalies are trying to knock our helmets off,» Stolarz said. «I mean, without the buckle, you can't really see the puck, you can't really track or do anything. As soon as you move your head, it falls off. So, hopefully the league can look at it and talk to some goalies or people who have knowledge of the position, and we can come to some sort of compromise where our safety isn't put at risk there.»
This has caused some debate around the NHL, and it appears as though Stolarz is getting lots of support from his peers.

Opposing goalie Igor Shesterkin also spoke about the play after Thursday's game, and he was quick to point out that this is very dangerous.
For all intents and purposes, it does feel like this is something that the NHL is going to have to seriously look at going forward.
They should (blow) a whistle right away because it's a very dangerous play.
You don't want to put goalies at risk and leave them in a Jacques Plante situation, where their nose is dangling from their face.
As soon as a mask comes off, the referee should blow the whistle, even if the puck is just inches away from going into the net.
Whether or not the league actually does do something, still remains to be seen.
