Filip Forsberg has been linked to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and one trade proposal sees the Maple Leafs giving up their youth to the Nashville Predators.

The Toronto Maple Leafs would love a first-line forward who could get the team a point-per-game on a consistent basis over the course of a season.
He would fit in nicely with guys like Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies, although it's hard to tell whether or not the Maple Leafs would be willing to make the deal.

Would the Toronto Maple Leafs trade for Filip Forsberg?

Recently, Kyle Cushman, Levi Smith, and Aidan Thakkar proposed a Maple Leafs and Nashville Predators trade that would leave all of Leafs Nation in shambles.
Effectively, the Leafs would have to give up their two biggest youth pieces in Easton Cowan and Ben Danford, while also giving up a draft pick.
Toronto Maple Leafs Receive:

Filip Forsberg

Nashville Predators Receive:

Easton Cowan
Ben Danford
Calle Jarnkrok
1st Round Pick, 2028

Quite frankly, it is very difficult to imagine a world in which general manager Brad Treliving tries to pull off a move like this.

Cowan has been phenomenal in his first three games as a Leaf, and it feels like he has so much more room to grow over the coming years.

While Forsberg would be instant gratification, you would also be mortgaging away the future, which probably isn't the best idea right now.

Either way, the Maple Leafs have some big decisions to make, and it will be fascinating to see what the front office pulls off this season.
