Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz had a phenomenal start to the series against the Ottawa Senators but things have turned sour.
Anthony Stolarz was sensational in the first three games of the Toronto Maple Leafs' first round series against the Ottawa Senators.
However, in the most recent games, the Leafs have not been great and by extension, their goaltender has had a bit of a rough go of things, even if it hasn't been all his fault.
On Tuesday night in Game 5, Stolarz allowed two goals on 17 shots and it was clear to everyone involved that he was not enjoying himself.
Anthony Stolarz talks Toronto Maple Leafs loss
Anthony Stolarz was one of the players who spoke and his comments are definitely concerning if you are a fan. Ultimately, Stollie believes the team was unable to overcome a mental block.
«We seemed a little snake-bitten.»
This is the worst possible thing for the Maple Leafs right now as they continue to show that they struggle when the going gets tough.
Their playoff performances over the last eight years have been pretty embarrassing and Game 5 was no different. They are now 1-13 in the series-clinching games.
Even under Craig Berube they are struggling to close out a series and this just goes to show that it is the players who have the problem.
