Western Michigan University forward Owen Michaels is an NCAA National Champion and a Frozen Four MVP, which means the Toronto Maple Leafs love him.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be hosting their development camp soon, and that means some young talents will be looking to impress the team's coaches and scouts.
Some of these players are draft picks, while others are simply guys who got invites because of their efforts overseas or with their college teams.
Amidst all of the free agency news, it was revealed that a Frozen Four MVP and NCAA Champion would be joining the Leafs this summer. Of course, we are talking about Owen Michaels of Western Michigan University.

Michaels had a phenomenal season with WMU as he had 36 points in 42 games and various clutch performances in the Frozen Four.

At 23 years old, he is certainly going to be one of the more veteran players at development camp, but this could play to his advantage.
The Toronto Maple Leafs recently announced the full roster of players for the development camp, and it can be viewed below.
Whether or not any of these players, including Michaels, make the team remains to be seen.
However, it is good to see the Leafs doing outreach and trying to obtain guys who have made an impact with their junior and college teams.
Hopefully, Michaels is able to do some good work and show fans that he has what it takes to make the NHL.
