New Toronto Maple Leafs center Nicolas Roy got to speak to the media on Tuesday, and as it turns out, the man is extremely happy about being with a new franchise.

Nicolas Roy is a center who can certainly make an impact on a team like the Toronto Maple Leafs. They needed a third-line guy, and now they have one.
In 71 games last season, the forward had 15 goals and 16 assists, although there is no doubt that he is capable of increasing his production with the right linemates.
Roy was part of the Mitch Marner trade with the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and now that he is officially in Toronto, he is looking to make an impact.

Nicolas Roy's first comments with the Toronto Maple Leafs

While speaking with the media on Tuesday, Roy was asked about having to fill the empty shoes left by Marner, who was a stud in Toronto.
As you can see, the center has a good head on his shoulders, but he is ready to prove to everyone that he can improve this team.
Knowing what Mitch has been in this league for a long time, what he means to the organization. Like I said, he's been a big part of this group. I played with Mitch on Team Canada when we were younger. He's an awesome player. So obviously brings a little bit of pressure knowing obviously what is meant to the team.

But at the same time, there's only one thing I can control, and it's getting ready for a season, getting ready this summer, working out and skating and getting ready for a season. So that's what I'm focusing on right now.
Roy went on to make some truly passionate comments that are going to have Leafs fans absolutely adoring the kid.
I want to be part of a team that's winning and watching the playoffs last year, the Panthers were the biggest challenge to the Leafs and this team is ready to win right now.

Ultimately, the Leafs are going to have to be patient throughout this offseason. Nothing is guaranteed, and players will be hard to come by.
Having said that, some business is going to get done soon, and the fans will just have to trust general manager Brad Treliving's process.
