The Toronto Maple Leafs were back on the ice today as the team takes on the Detroit Red Wings tomorrow, and Craig Berube is cooking with his lines right now.
After an opening night win against the Montreal Canadiens, the
Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to keep the good time rolling against the Detroit Red Wings.
Overall, it is not going to be easy. While the Red Wings aren't exactly a very good team, they do pose a threat to the Maple Leafs in a big way.
They will be vying for an Atlantic Division playoff spot, and they are an Original Six rival whom you should always strive to be good against.
Craig Berube keeps things status quo for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Today at practice, Craig Berube had the Maple Leafs' lines going, and as you will see below, the head coach actually kept things status quo.
The lines and defensive pairings are exactly the same as opening night, which shows that Berube liked what he saw from his team.
A 5-2 win in the first game of the season is always going to make you hopeful, so it is easy to see why Berube would be going with this kind of strategy.

A win on Saturday would mean the Leafs starting the season with a 2-0 record. While this would be nice, it isn't necessary to have a good season.
This Leafs team is still trying to find some chemistry, especially with
Mitch Marner gone from the franchise.
Only time will tell whether or not the team can keep filing away the wins, and have a season that exacts vengeance on last year.
