It's All But Confirmed for Nick Robertson and the Toronto Maple Leafs

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson has been subjected to a plethora of rumors over the past year or so, but his recent performance is creating stability.
Nick Robertson is someone who has had to deal with lots of chatter surrounding his future with the Toronto Maple Leafs and whether or not the team would keep him long-term.
In fact, it was recently reported that there have been times when Robertson himself has asked for a trade out of Toronto if he doesn't get the right opportunity.
With the Leafs looking for top-six talent, they have decided to give Nick Robertson that opportunity, and so far, he has taken it in stride.
Nick Robertson becomes a stud for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Between the first and second lines, Robertson has been able to improve his production, with six points in the last six games.
Not to mention, the Leafs had incredible five-on-five stats whenever Robertson was on the ice, which is a step in the right direction.
Perhaps lost in the midst of last night's huge win against Utah - the Maple Leafs were absolutely dominant in the offensive zone at 5v5 with Nick Robertson on the ice:

While he didn't produce any points last night, he was still exceptionally impactful, and that is exactly what the Maple Leafs need right about now.
If the Leafs can continue to get this production and impact from Robertson, then the future is sealed. He will be staying with the team this season.
Having someone trustworthy on the top two lines is important, and if Robertson can keep his spot, it bodes well for his immediate future.
This weekend, the Leafs have a back-to-back, and if Robertson produces, he may just earn himself a permanent promotion.
