Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner had a major life event today and teammates like John Tavares have been commenting on it all day.
Mitch Marner had to miss Toronto Maple Leafs practice today although it was for very good reasons that have already been reported by many outlets.
Essentially, Marner and his wife Stephanie welcomed their first child into the world, a baby boy. Needless to say, it was a given that he would have to miss some ice time.
Of course, the Maple Leafs start their series against the Florida Panthers on Monday, and fans are hopeful that Marner will be in the lineup. All signs point to that being the case.

Numerous players gave their take on the Marner news today after practice, including John Tavares who understands the joy of having kids.
As he explained, Marner is probably going through a lot right now, however, it is all good stuff that will change his family's life forever.
«It gives you tremendous perspective and meaning to life. For him, it has been probably real emotional, and you to try to soak it all in. It's really special. Really happy for Mitchy and his wife and his family."
We wish Mitch Marner the best of luck with this new chapter of his life. We're sure that it is going to be difficult yet rewarding.
Meanwhile, the forward will be very motivated for his upcoming games against the Florida Panthers. There is a lot riding on his performance.
The entire team seems motivated and there is no denying that the Leafs have a real shot at pulling off an unlikely upset.
Hopefully, Game 1 is a win, especially since team will be on home ice and will have the entire Scotiabank Arena behind them.
