Maple Leafs Defenseman Brandon Carlo is Making Moves Amid Trade Rumors

Last season, the Toronto Maple Leafs traded Fraser Minten and a first-round draft pick to the Boston Bruins for defenseman Brandon Carlo.

It was a move that surprised fans quite a bit at the time. The rumor mill never mentioned the Leafs' interest in the defenseman. It ultimately had fans singing the praises of general manager Brad Treliving.

During his brief stint with the Leafs in the regular season, Carlo was as solid as they come. However, his playoff performance could have been better.

When the offseason began, Carlo was mentioned in trade rumors, as the Leafs need to get themselves a top-six forward. Again, these rumors eventually faded, but with Treliving looking to get active, the mood has shifted, and no one knows where Carlo stands.

As it turns out, the veteran defenseman is completely unbothered by the rumors, and he seems to be doing just fine.

We say that because earlier today, he took to social media where he showed off the fact that he was golfing with some friends.

Training camp is going to begin soon, which means Carlo only has so much time left to enjoy his summer and do as he pleases.

At this stage, it feels pretty unlikely that the Maple Leafs will trade him before the end of the offseason. If they trade him, they will be short on viable defensemen.
