Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a very difficult job, and with a thin free agent market, we haven't seen the team make very many swings.

If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, the offseason has proven to be frustrating at times, especially as the team has yet to take a big swing.
While the team has brought in Nicolas Roy, Michael Pezzetta, Dakota Joshua, and Matias Maccelli, none of these moves are "big."
The team has an abundance of bottom and middle-six forwards, which is putting them in a precarious position with rival teams.

Brad Treliving pressured to make a move

For instance, reporter Nick Alberga recently made the point that the Maple Leafs cannot bring in Jack Roslovic without making trades first.
However, other teams know the position the Leafs are in, and are unlikely to cut them any real slack.
It's just weird to discuss a fit right now when they have like 15 [NHL] forwards on their roster. What's the exodus look like if you bring in a Jack Roslovic? You're definitely not trading off a position of strength when everyone knows that you have to flee bodies, and that's, I think, the game right now when it comes to Brad Treliving. It's like, you want to bring in Roslovic, but you bring him in and you have like 4 guys that you've gotta jettison out, and how do you make a trade when every GM knows that?

For Treliving, this is going to be an interesting stretch where he is going to have to get mighty creative.
The fans want him to do something, and Roslovic isn't the answer. Instead, they want someone to play on the first line.
Needless to say, this next month is going to be very interesting for the Leafs and their fans.
