Maple Leafs deliver huge injury update on Matt Murray

The Toronto Marlies are awaiting updates on goaltender Matt Murray after he exited Saturday's game against the Laval Rocket due to an injury.
Dennis Hildeby replaced him and stopped 19 of 23 shots in the 5-4 loss to Laval.
Following the game, the Marlies head coach John Gruden commented that there was no immediate update, saying Murray "tweaked something" and expressed hope that it wasn't to serious of an injury.
Matt Murray signed a $875,000 contract of one-year with the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1 and is in the mix for a comeback after undergoing bilateral hip surgery in September 2023.
In six AHL appearances this season, he has a 2-1-2-0 record with a .912 save percentage and he is the second-best among the Marlies' goalies.
His return to the ice followed a long recovery period, and Matt Murray expressed optimism about his health during the offseason, saying on the Slangin' the Bizkit Podcast that his hips "haven't felt this good in a long, long time."
Matt Murray is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017,but he has struggled with injuries throughout his career.
His NHL experience include 272 games with a 146-86-24 record and a .910 save percentage.
He played for the Penguins, Ottawa Senators, and Maple Leafs.
The Marlies and Leafs now face uncertainty as they await further news on Murray's condition and they are hoping that this injury does not derail his recovery and return to form.
