Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson has been on head coach Craig Berube's naughty list as of late but there might be some hope after all.
Nick Robertson is a player who has been scratched quite a bit by the Maple Leafs so far this season and there have been times when Craig Berube has been absolutely disgusted by his play.
Nick Robertson plays well against the Carolina Hurricanes
Robertson had a goal while playing on the third line which consisted of himself,
Max Domi, and
Steven Lorentz.
After the game, Craig Berube spoke about Robertson's performance and actually dished out some rare praise.
«I liked Robby's game tonight. He worked, skated, and scored a goal. He had some other opportunities. He was tenacious, working, skating, and doing his thing. He was a good player.»
In 35 games, Robertson has seven goals and four assists, which is not what the Leafs were hoping for this year.
After the forward made a huge fuss about his next contract, there was an expectation that he would take a huge leap.
However, that did not happen, and fans have been feeling at least a little bit ripped off.
Saturday should be interesting as the Leafs take on the Vancouver Canucks, who have struggled as of late.
Only time will tell whether or not Robertson gets into the lineup.
