In the clip down below, you can see Domi go after Hathaway who was playing with the puck along the boards.
As the Maple Leafs forward approached the Flyers player, he put his elbow up and then went right into the back of Hathaway's head.
It was as obvious as you can make it, and Domi was immediately sent to the box while the Flyers were completely outraged by how brazen the entire play was.
Well, the NHL Department of Player Safety has decided to respond to this mess, and they did so swiftly.
Just moments ago, it was revealed that Max Domi was being fined $5000 for his elbow on Hathaway. This is the maximum fine under the current CBA.
McCabe was injured on the play, yet Hathaway did not get a lick of supplemental discipline.
It is yet another example of the NHL Department of Player Safety allegedly having a bias against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Hopefully, Domi learns from the situation and tones down his physicality a bit as he has been playing too far on the edge as of late.
