Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner missed practice today due to a huge family emergency with his wife Stephanie.
Mitch Marner and his wife Stephanie welcomed their first child together this morning.
According to the Maple Leafs on social media, the Marner's had a baby boy. It was known that Stephanie was pregnant, and now, the child is finally here.
As a result, Marner missed practice this morning which is very understandable all things considered.

Overall, Marner has a lot to deal with especially when you consider how the Maple Leafs are playing against the Florida Panthers in the second round of the NHL Playoffs.
Of course, family is always more important than hockey. At the same time, we cannot imagine what Marner must be feeling and thinking right now.
Perhaps the birth of his child will make him more motivated to go out and have some of the best performances of his career so far.
Either way, we are just happy for the Marner family and we wish them the best as they embark on this incredible journey of parenthood.
