Mitch Marner Rejected Blockbuster Trade to the New York Islanders

As it stands, many feel as though the Islanders lost the trade, especially with their poor showing at the NHL Draft with their 16th and 17th overall picks.
Having said that, this is now bringing up some old mythology about the Toronto Maple Leafs, who were reportedly offered Dobson last season.
Mitch Marner and the New York Islanders
However, as per usual, Marner was the one who decided to decline it and stay in Toronto. Now, that move is blowing up in the Leafs' face.
Former Leafs and Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello had reportedly offered D Noah Dobson in a potential blockbuster trade package to the Leafs prior to last year's trade deadline - a deal that would've been for Mitch Marner.
Of course, that never materialized. Now, fast forward a year: Marner is expected to leave in a few days, and Dobson is a Montreal Canadien.
At this stage, Leafs fans could not be less enthused about the Mitch Marner situation and how all of this is going ahead of July 1st.
However, it is important to remember that sometimes, this stuff just happens, and you have to be prepared for it. Players are going to do what they want.
Now,
the Atlantic Division is getting more difficult, as Noah Dobson makes the Canadiens a real threat to do some serious damage.
Whether or not the Habs can improve upon their Wild Card positioning from last season, still very much remains to be seen.
