Morgan Rielly Traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs: Insider Unveils the Truth

If you are a Morgan Rielly fan, then you have probably been suffering from all of the trade rumors that have been going around for the last few months.

Overall, there is a large contingent of the Leafs fanbase that would like Rielly gone due to his lack of offense and poor defensive ability.

Most of these criticisms were unique to last season, where he was certainly lacking in some areas. However, there is always a possibility that he bounces back into the player the Leafs need him to be.

Having said that, Nick Kypreos recently came out and said that the Leafs had a conversation with Rielly about waiving his no-trade clause. Rielly refused but left the possibility of a trade open. At least, that is what Kypreos is saying here.

Recently, TSN's Chris Johnston was on the Steve Dangle Podcast, where he offered his own version of the Rielly situation. In his eyes, no trade request has been made, and fans should forget about it.

Quite frankly, Johnston has more credibility on these matters than Nick Kypreos. Kypreos typically throws spaghetti at a wall to see if it sticks.

If Johnston is saying this, then it is infinitely more believable. That said, things could get very interesting throughout the upcoming season.

Rielly needs to start playing better hockey. If he doesn't, then the trade rumors might just come back to bite him.

This is an important season for the Leafs as a whole, and the fans will be hoping and praying for the absolute best.
