The Toronto Maple Leafs recently traded San Jose Sharks enforcer Ryan Reaves, and as you can imagine, there have been some ill feelings as of late.

Ryan Reaves is one of the more polarizing former Maple Leafs enforcers out there, mostly due to his conduct after being traded just last week.
After being sent to the San Jose Sharks for defenseman Henry Thrun, the enforcer immediately started throwing the franchise under the bus for his supposed treatment.
He claimed that the team never really wanted him and that head coach Craig Berube was punishing him all season long for one bad game.
Furthermore, Reaves stated that he demanded a trade from the Leafs as soon as the season was over. Of course, general manager Brad Treliving happily obliged.

Ryan Reaves with a goodbye to the Toronto Maple Leafs

Last night, Reaves took to Instagram where he decided to deliver one final message to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and as you will read, it was not an inspiring one.
He posted some photos of himself playing for the Leafs, and just had a very basic version of "see you later."
At the end of the day, Reaves did not live up to his contract. He was brought in to be an enforcer of sorts, and he completely forgot to, you know...enforce.
He barely fought last season, and it felt like the team was practically begging him to do it on a nightly basis. His hunger was completely gone.
Perhaps he will find it again with the San Jose Sharks, a team that is destined to lose a whole lot of games next season.
Only time will tell whether or not the forward is going to reach that 1000 games mark, or come in just under it. No matter what, we will be watching.
