Last week, the Toronto Maple Leafs traded Ryan Reaves to the San Jose Sharks; however, on his way out the door, he is actually making some history.

Overall, Ryan Reaves is a player who has proven to be quite polarizing when it comes to NHL circles, and that will probably never change.
This past season, Reaves didn't get to play a ton of games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, as his services were not needed.
Eventually, the Maple Leafs sent him to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Henry Thrun, who has lots of potential right now.

Ryan Reaves makes Toronto Maple Leafs history

Having said all that, it has been revealed that Reaves will be making history with the Toronto Maple Leafs upon his exit from the team.
By all accounts, Reaves will be the last player in the history of the Toronto Maple Leafs to not wear a visor attached to his helmet.
Back in 2013-14, visors became mandatory, although those who were already refusing to wear them were grandfathered in. This meant they could continue as is. Any new players in the league would have to conform immediately.
Of course, if the Maple Leafs were to get a guy like Jamie Benn, then Reaves' little record would be broken. That said, visorless players are a dying breed.
Whether or not Reaves makes an impact with the San Jose Sharks remains to be seen. Some fans are certainly skeptical he will get lots of playing time.
That said, he wants to reach 1000 games, and he doesn't have much longer to reach that goal.
