Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly has been on the decline as of late, and there has been a huge push from analysts and fans to trade the aging asset.
Morgan Rielly's decline when it comes to offense has been noticeable, and fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs have been wondering whether or not he is truly worth $7.5 million per season.
At this rate, it seems unlikely that a Rielly move would take place this summer. However, one analyst seems to think otherwise.
Toronto Maple Leafs are discussing Morgan Rielly trade
Nick Kypreos was on 'The Real Kyper & Bourne' on Friday where he made the bold proclamation that the Leafs are currently shopping Rielly.
Conversations are being had, and there is a very real scenario in which the Maple Leafs decide it would be best for everyone to just move on.
His name is out there; I believe those discussions are being had; I don't anticipate anything imminent; it may take time to come to that conclusion that it's best for all parties
If Morgan Rielly were to move his no-trade clause, it would send shockwaves throughout the National Hockey League.
Whatever the case may be, the Leafs are trying to get a little bit creative right now, and we appreciate everything general manager Brad Treliving is trying to accomplish.
Only time will tell what the Toronto Maple Leafs can get done on July 1st, and beyond as the summer goes forward.
