Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz is still recovering after being hit by Sam Bennett, but his chances of a return aren't what they may seem.
After going down with what many believe is a concussion in Game 1 against the Florida Panthers, the concern for
Anthony Stolarz has been at an all-time high.
This is especially true after the Leafs lost to the Florida Panthers last night by a score of 5-4 in a game that they probably should have won.
Some have pegged the goaltender's return for Game 5, which is set to go down on Wednesday. However, not everyone is convinced.
Is Anthony Stolarz returning against the Florida Panthers?
Joshua Kloke of The Athletic recently came through with a report stating that Stolarz's chances of returning to the Panthers series are actually pretty slim.
Despite the hope that Berube gave fans today, it is actually much more likely that
Joseph Woll has to play the entire series.
If that is the case, then this series is going to be a lot more difficult to win. Woll has been shaky throughout the first three games of his playoff campaign.
A goals-against average of 3.99 and a save percentage below .870 are holding him back from being the guy that the Leafs truly need right now.
Only time will tell whether or not Woll can get it together and whether or not Stolarz can find himself back in the net sooner rather than later.
Although for now, both things are on shaky grounds, and the defense as well as the offense will need to carry the Leafs throughout this next stretch of hockey.
