Toronto Maple Leafs Attract Suspicion as Multiple Scouts Attend Western Conference Matchup

With the trade deadline coming on March 7th, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving is being tasked with making his team as strong as possible.

Of course, this is no easy task and it is going to take a lot of negotiating as well as a whole lot of scouting to ensure the team is making all of the right decisions.

According to reporter Dennis Bernstein, the Los Angeles Kings and Las Vegas Golden Knights game last night was populated by various scouts from across the NHL.

However, the Toronto Maple Leafs attracted particular suspicion as they were the only team to send out two scouts.

With the Maple Leafs looking to make a deep playoff run this season, it should come as absolutely no surprise that the team is going all-in right now and is devoting as many resources as humanly possible.

The Maple Leafs are currently in the market for some defenseman as well as centers who can bolster either the third or the second line.

Nicholas Roy and Keegan Kolesar of the Las Vegas Golden Knights could be some solid options, and for the Kings, Tanner Jeannot and Warren Foegele are definitely options as well.

However, there are 29 other teams in the NHL that the Maple Leafs could poach from, and it is clear that Treliving is simply doing as much due diligence as humanly possible.

The Leafs have a lot to think about moving forward, and it is not going to be easy for this team to make the moves they want as they are a bit thin on assets.

Having said that, Brad Treliving has a good track record and his respect around the league could certainly give the Leafs a leg to stand on at the negotiating table.
