Toronto Maple Leafs Captain Auston Matthews Elicits Injury Concern at Morning Skate

Throughout this NHL season, Auston Matthews has not been the same player, and many believe it is because of an injury.

Overall, he hasn't been scoring at the clip that he usually does, and this has led to a lot of concern. This is especially true now that we are in the playoffs.

Tonight, the Leafs and the Panthers will play each other in Game 4 of their second-round series, and fans are hoping that Matthews will score a goal.

Unfortunately, just moments ago, Matthews gave fans a bit of an injury scare as he wasn't present at morning skate, like he usually is.

However, quickly after this news broke, it was revealed by the Toronto Maple Leafs that Matthews will be playing, instead, he just needed some rest.

This is in line with what fans have been led to believe all season long. It seems like the captain needs more rest than usual, and no one knows what is really wrong with him.

Auston Matthews is needed more than ever as the Toronto Maple Leafs are seeking their first Stanley Cup since 1967.

However, if all he can muster are two goals in nine games, then the Leafs won't get much further than they are right now. It is sad but true.
