Toronto Maple Leafs Confirm Their Interest in Bringing Back Beloved Veteran Forward

Free agency is over a week old at this point, and the Toronto Maple Leafs still have not signed a ton of players, although one forward persists for an NHL job.
Max Pacioretty is a player who came into last season with very few expectations, especially when you consider how he has dealt with numerous injury problems as of late.
In the regular season, those injury problems persisted, and Pacioretty was only able to play 37 games, notching five goals and 13 points.
However, in the postseason, he had three goals and eight points in 11 games, which was a nice little surprise, especially in the closeout to Game 6 against the Ottawa Senators.
Is Max Pacioretty coming back to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Furthermore, there is no guarantee that he will come back to the Toronto Maple Leafs, given the fact that his family is in Michigan, and this process has been hard on them.
According to Luke Fox of Sportsnet, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving confirmed that the team has some interest in bringing Pacioretty back. They are not closing the door on it.
The team needs some bottom-sixers, and if Pacioretty could stay healthy for an entire season, then he would be a nice option for this team.
For now, the Leafs will simply have to abide by Pacioretty's schedule and timeline if they really want to sign him. Unfortunately for the Leafs, they can't afford to take their time right now.
Overall, this is a tough offseason for the Leafs, and that is not changing anytime soon. The Leafs will just have to figure out a will and a way.
Hopefully, Brad Treliving is able to lock in here down the stretch, and get something done.
