Toronto Maple Leafs fans call for Craig Berube's firing, and they already know his replacement

Craig Berube helped the Toronto Maple Leafs win the Atlantic Division in his very first season as the team's head coach. He even took them to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.

Unfortunately, this season has been much more of a struggle. The offense has been fine, but the defense and the goaltending have been huge problems.

After two straight losses, some fans are starting to get especially impatient. The team has a record of 8-7-1, and while that isn't terrible, it's awfully mediocre.

A team with Auston Matthews, John Tavares, and William Nylander should be a whole lot better than this, and fans are out for blood.

In fact, some are jumping out the window to put the blame on head coach Craig Berube. They believe his style is too defensive for this team and that someone with a better offensive mind needs to come in.

Based on the tweets below, it is clear that the fans want to see Peter DeBoer behind the bench. He has a solid track record of getting teams to the Conference Finals.

However, when it comes to getting the job done, he always comes up a bit short. He has never won the Stanley Cup, which should be a concern.

If you are a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, it makes sense that you would be mad and frustrated by the team's lackluster results.

That said, it doesn't appear as though changing the coach is actually going to be the answer here. Instead, the Leafs just need to be more accountable.

This is easier said than done, but it is absolutely true. Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can figure this out, especially as they head to Boston for a rematch with the Bruins on Tuesday.
