Toronto Maple Leafs fans have seen some great general managers come and go over the years, although recently, fans voted on the greatest of all time.
As of right now, the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs is none other than Brad Treliving, a man with a solid track record who clearly cares about his team.
Unfortunately, throughout the years, the Leafs have had some pretty bad general managers. Thankfully, they have also had some good ones who went above and beyond to perform for the team.
Recently, Toronto Maple Leafs fans were tasked by The Leafs Nation to vote on the greatest general manager in the history of the franchise.
The ultimate winner was someone who Leafs fans remember quite fondly. Not to mention, he is a man who remains as a special advisor to the team.
Cliff Fletcher is a Toronto Maple Leafs legend
Of course, we are talking about none other than Cliff Fletcher, who was the man who brought Doug Gilmour to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Overall, Fletcher helped the Leafs get to two straight Conference Finals, in an era that is fondly remembered as the Leafs' best since their Cup in 1967.
Fletcher is the man, and he remains one of the most respected figures in the history of the Toronto Maple Leafs, which is well deserved.
He helped this team get out of a dark age, and even today, he provides the team with advice that is valuable to those in charge, like Treliving.
Fans were subsequently asked to vote on the worst general manager in team history, and we can only imagine what that is going to look like.
That said, we are eager to see who gets the vote of shame, and if it will be Kyle Dubas.
