Toronto Maple Leafs Get Massive Update on Bryan Rust

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust could be traded very soon, and with the Toronto Maple Leafs showing interest, a new report will offer some good news.
The Toronto Maple Leafs need to replace Mitch Marner, as the forward had 102 points last season and was a huge driver of their offense.
However, that is a lot easier said than done. The free agent market is dead, and the only players available can be had via trade, which is doubly hard as the Leafs have little to no assets.
Having said that, there is one player available that is proving to be very intriguing for the Leafs, and that player just so happens to be Bryan Rust of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Penguins are on the verge of a fire sale with Rickard Rakell and Rust at the forefront, and today, we got an update from Josh Yohe.
As Yohe explains, it would be surprising to see Rakell and Rust on the Penguins roster when the season begins in the middle of October.
They could both be on the opening night roster, of course, but I'd be surprised if that happens
This is a very interesting reveal given how there has been no movement on trades over the past couple of weeks. The NHL has been all but dead.
However, with training camps starting up soon, it would not be surprising if general manager Kyle Dubas began shipping out guys like Rakell, Rust, and even Erik Karlsson.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have shown interest in all three of these players, and fans will be keeping tabs on all of the drama.
Hopefully, something happens soon, otherwise, the Leafs fanbase might just choose to revolt.
