The Toronto Maple Leafs are taking on the Ottawa Senators tonight and hours before the game, the home team ended up getting some troublesome news.
Tonight, the battle of Ontario will be renewed and there are a ton of playoff implications at stake here as the Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to win the Atlantic Division.
Moreover, the Ottawa Senators are trying to secure a Wild-Card playoff spot and they may just matcup against the Leafs depending how things play out.
Meanwhile, a few nights ago against the Boston Bruins, Senators captain Brady Tkachuk was injured and there were all sorts of rumors about whether or not he would be in tonight's lineup.
Is Brady Tkachuk playing for the Ottawa Senators tonight?
Tkachuk is the lifeblood of this Senators team especially when you consider his 27 goals and 52 points in 63 games this season.
Luckily for the Senators and unfortunately for the Maple Leafs, it has been confirmed that Brady Tkachuk will, indeed, be in the lineup tonight.
He was on the ice in Toronto for the morning skate and head coach Travis Green told reporter Mark Masters that Tkachuk is good to go.
Brady Tkachuk had a lot of hockey fans shook thanks to his performance at the 4 Nations Face-Off where he proved to everyone just how much grit and raw talent he has.
Overall, the kid is going to be a superstar for years to come and the Senators are lucky to have him.
If they do make it to the postseason, it will largely be because of the efforts put in by Tkachuk.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Leafs need to win tonight and stopping Tkachuk is going to prove to be their hardest task of the entire evening.
