Auston Matthews Gives Toronto Maple Leafs Fans a Scare at Morning Skate

Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews has been dealing with an injury this season and fans have been getting worried about his status moving forward.
Auston Matthews is supposed to be the best goal-scorer in the entire NHL, however, he only has 23 goals in 50 games this season.
It's well known that the captain is dealing with some injury problems and they just don't seem to be going away.
He is not at 100 percent and with the playoffs approaching, this is just bad news for the Maple Leafs franchise and its fans.
Is Auston Matthews in the lineup against the Ottawa Senators tonight
Tonight, the team takes on the Ottawa Senators and fans are hoping for a big game out of Matthews.
However, those same fans were given quite the scare during morning skate as it was reported by Mark Masters that Matthews was not on the ice.
A few moments later, those fears were squashed when Masters revealed that the captain had been given the morning off but would still play today.
The Maple Leafs are had some wild line combinations this morning as a result of Matthews being absent.
However, fans should not expect the lines below for tonight's game. We know this because David Kampf will be scratched.
