Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton has struggled during his brief time in Toronto thus far and some are wondering whether or not something deeper is going on.
However, since coming to the Leafs,
Scott Laughton has yet to register a single point and defensively, he has been a bit of a liability.
With the playoffs coming up, fans are starting to grow very concerned about what is going on and are worried that the Leafs may have made a big mistake.
Keith Yandle on Scott Laughton
Former NHL defenseman and current Spittin Chiclets co-host
Keith Yandle played with Laughton in Philadelphia and knows his game first-hand.
During a radio appearance on Toronto airwaves this week, Yands made it very clear that the newly-acquired center is going to do everything possible to get himself back to where he needs to be.
"He's a student of the game. He's watching video, asking questions all the time I think for him, you will see the adjustment on ice around the two-week mark as opposed to a month and a half."
Essentially, Yandle believes it will take Laughton about two weeks to get into the swing of things whereas it would take other guys about six weeks.
Of course, this is a pretty optimistic outlook as it pertains to Laughton and one has to wonder if things will actually play out this way.
The Maple Leafs need everyone at 100 percent as they attempt to win
the Atlantic Division and drum up some momentum going into the playoffs.
If they are unable to make any of that happen, then things are going to get spooky, especially if they get stuck with the
Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round.
