Toronto Maple Leafs forwards David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok are on the trading block, although over the past few weeks, Brad Treliving has been unable to do anything.
If you have been paying attention to the
Toronto Maple Leafs as of late, you would know that the team has an abundance of bottom-six forwards.
Calle Jarnkrok and David Kampf remain on the Maple Leafs
According to Elliotte Friedman on "The Real Kyper & Bourne," rival NHL teams are currently strong-arming Treliving in negotiations. They are demanding additional assets in order to take on Kampf and Jarnkrok.
The Maple Leafs are not appreciative of this, and as a result, it has put them in a position where they would rather not make a deal right now.
The problem is that teams are probably saying what can we...get out of the Maple Leafs for doing this, and I think Toronto doesn't really want to do that
It has been made clear that the Maple Leafs want to make a move, but they will not be bullied into doing something that will negatively impact the team.
Overall, you cannot blame the Leafs for operating this way. No matter what the situation is, they must put the team's success above everything else.
Quite frankly, this is going to be a fascinating situation to watch play out over the next week, as the season is officially set to begin on October 8th.
Given the events of the last few months, you have to put some trust into general manager Brad Treliving.
