NHL legend Wayne Gretzky had a message for Max Domi on Saturday night, and he applied that message on Sunday in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Max Domi is a player who has struggled mightily this season as he hadn't scored a single goal since December of 2024, where he had three goals in three games.
Ironically enough, these were the only three goals that the forward had scored all season long and fans were growing more and more disillusioned by his play.

Max Domi gets a phone call from Wayne Gretzky

Domi was celebrating his 30th birthday today, and last night, he received a birthday wish from Wayne Gretzky.
He revealed that Gretzky told him to shoot more often, and he also revealed just how proud he is to be a Canadian.
"To get a call from a guy that is literally the best ever on my birthday was pretty special... that one was for him... he makes me so proud to be Canadian."
It was a huge win for the Maple Leafs today as they defeated the Penguins 6-5 in overtime during a game that saw a ton of offense and some truly retched goaltending.
Overall, it was a bad night for Joseph Woll but if you are a Maple Leafs forward, you definitely enjoyed being able to score so many points seemingly at will.
The Leafs have now won five games in a row and tomorrow, they will get to take on the San Jose Sharks which is a perfect opportunity to make it six in a row.
Only time will tell whether or not this goal and conversation with Wayne Gretzky leads to more success for Max Domi moving forward.
