Montreal Canadiens Acquire Connor McDavid in Outrageous Trade Proposal

Connor McDavid has yet to sign a new deal with the Edmonton Oilers, and this has led to all sorts of speculation about what he wants to do next Summer.

Some Toronto Maple Leafs fans are hopeful that he will sign with his hometown team and bring it all back to where it started.

Meanwhile, hockey accounts on X are coming up with delusional fantasies that are going to make you roll your eyes and shut the internet off.

Big Head Hockey on X did just that on Sunday evening, and fans on social media can't help but laugh at the stupidity on full display.

The account proposed a trade between the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers. Of course, the Canadiens end up with McDavid, while the Oilers get Juraj Slafkovsky, Jakub Dobes, LK Mooney, and some high draft picks.

To think the Edmonton Oilers would ever do this is just ridiculous, even if the franchise did get a little nutty with Wayne Gretzky in the '80s.

Ultimately, Habs fans should not expect this kind of trade to bless their team anytime soon. If it does, it would be absolutely shocking.

If anything, the likeliest outcome here is that Connor McDavid stays with the Edmonton Oilers for at least four more years.

Either way, if one thing is certain it is that the NHL season could start back up again fast enough.
