Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll is going through it right now, and it appears as though the team has put him on LTIR for the foreseeable future.

During training camp, the Toronto Maple Leafs revealed that Joseph Woll would be taking a leave of absence due to something going on with his family.
At the time, it seemed like this would only last a couple of weeks. However, we have been going on for a month, and there are still very few answers pertaining to what's wrong.
Last night, the Leafs made an announcement involving Woll, and it has brought about a lot more concern than answers.

Joseph Woll hits LTIR

According to Leafs Latest, the goaltender is going on LTIR. This is a bit of a salary cap play so that the team has some extra flexibility.
However, a player must qualify for LTIR by missing 10 games or 24 days. Needless to say, it seems like Woll is going to be out a lot longer.
UPDATE: The Maple Leafs have placed Joseph Woll on LTIR, freeing up his $3.67M cap hit as additional space.

After recalling Mermis, the team now has $3.63M in LTIR cap space remaining with 23 active players on the roster.
This announcement has sent Leafs Nation into a frenzy, as many are stuck wondering what's wrong with the goaltender and if it can be fixed.
It is a very unfortunate situation, and the fans want answers. They want Woll to be okay, but they also want to be in the loop on what's happening.
For now, the Maple Leafs will have to continue to ride with guys like Anthony Stolarz and Cayden Primeau. For Stolarz, it's tough as he has never played this many games.
With a back-to-back this weekend, we will certainly get to see Primeau either Friday or Saturday.
