Former Toronto Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan has been looking for a new job in the hockey world, and it appears as though he has finally found it.
Last Summer, the
Toronto Maple Leafs parted ways with Brendan Shanahan, who had served as President of the franchise for about a decade.
In the end, the Leafs decided to move on without a President. As for Shanahan, he has now found a new job in the hockey world.
According to Darren Dreger, he will now work in the Hockey Operations department at the NHL's head office.
I will have more on this in Insider Trading @SportsCentre. Brendan Shanahan is joining the NHL's Hockey Operations department. I would expect Shanahan would be a leading candidate if a team makes a significant change and an opportunity presents to lead another NHL club.
It was made clear that should an NHL team come calling, Shanahan will likely go do that instead, as he would love to be working for a franchise.
The Toronto Maple Leafs without Brendan Shanahan
In the first three games since Shanahan's firing, the Toronto Maple Leafs have not been particularly good, although these two things are not related.
The Leafs are just having a very bad time right now, and it will be interesting to see if they can come through and overcome this.
Regardless, the fans in Toronto continue to see Shanahan as one of those controversial figures in franchise history.
