Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll had been away on a leave of absence, and with fans fearing the worst, a positive development has finally come about.

Joseph Woll was placed on LTIR on Thursday night, as there were numerous fears that the goaltender would not return to the team anytime soon.
However, an unexpected development just popped up moments ago. According to the Maple Leafs' PR account on X, Woll is returning to the team.
As a result, he will now get to participate in practices and other team activities. While he won't get to play right away, he is in the midst of ramping up his conditioning.
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that goaltender Joseph Woll is rejoining the team and will resume team activities and on-ice participation as part of the return-to-play process.
This could not have come at a better time, given the fact that the team is currently in a rut and is in major need of its goaltender.
Anthony Stolarz has had to take on the brunt of the action as Cayden Primeau has only received one start through the first seven games.

What's next for Joseph Woll?

It will likely take Woll a few more weeks to ease into the action before we see him play an actual game. At the end of the day, he hasn't had enough time to get acclimated to the pace of play.
It could take him a couple of weeks, and we imagine he will only be in a Leafs uniform as of the middle of November. However, it's just good to see him back.
There was a fear that this could go on until the new year, but clearly, that is no longer something that the fans should worry about.
We wish Woll the best of luck as he rejoins his teammates and attempts to be the goaltender we know he can be.
