Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alexander Mogilny is going into the Hockey Hall of Fame, although there is one little hang-up that makes things a bit less special.
Alexander Mogilny had been snubbed by the Hockey Hall of Fame for many years, and fans were practically begging for him to be inducted.
Overall, he had over 1000 points during his career, and he had over a point per game by the time of his retirement.
Furthermore, he had 76 goals in the mid-90s for the Buffalo Sabres, which is easily one of the biggest accomplishments of his career.
Not to mention, he won a Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils in the year 2000, which put a nice bow on his career.
Alexander Mogilny won't be present for Hall of Fame induction
On November 10th, Mogilny will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, however, there is some bad news.
The forward is not going to be attending his own ceremony. Instead, he is going to submit his own video that will play at the induction.
Induction Celebration Notice:
Class of 2025 Inductee Alexander Mogilny has confirmed that he is unable to attend the Induction in person. He will be sharing his acceptance speech through a video message that will be aired during the Induction Celebration on Monday, November 10th.
Overall, the Toronto Maple Leafs fanbase is happy to see Mogilny get his due, even if he will not be there in person.
It is always nice to see good players get recognized for their various achievements and contributions to the sport.
We wonder what other Maple Leafs stars will end up in the Hall of Fame someday.
