Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews clearly does not like Ridley Greig very much and he showed that during their first-round series against the Senators.
Overall, these two teams played each other extremely well and the mind games were a lot of fun to watch, especially from captain
Auston Matthews.
In case you did not notice, Matthews snapped Greig's stick early on in the series, much to the delight of fans.
During Game 5, fans thought Matthews had done something similar to his own stick in a fit of frustration amid the team's worst playoff outing of the season so far.
However, according to Sportsnet, there was a bit of misinterpretation with what happened. As it turns out, Matthews had snapped another one of Greig's sticks.
As you can see in the footage below, Matthews picked up the stick from off of the ice and then did what he could to mess with the Senators forward.
Overall, it was pretty hilarious and the perfect bit of gamesmanship for the Maple Leafs captain to test out in the midst of a big game.
Now, Auston Matthews will have to bring this kind of fire to the next round against none other than the Florida Panthers.
The Panthers are a scary team and not too many fans believe the Leafs can overcome the skill, size, and grit gap.
However, anything can happen in the postseason and if the Leafs approach this as underdogs, perhaps they can win in a 7-game series.
