NHL Insider Unveils Potential Start Dates for Toronto Maple Leafs & Florida Panthers Series

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers will play each other in the second round of the playoffs and the fans are very eager for the start of the series.
Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs knocked off the Ottawa Senators to win the first round of the NHL Playoffs.
Now, they must play against the Florida Panthers, a team that destroyed the Tampa Bay Lightning in just five games. It was quite shocking to witness and the Leafs should be a bit intimidated.
However, the big question on everyone's mind is when the series will begin and if the Leafs will have an adequate amount of rest before jumping into something new.
When is Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers starting?
According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, there are three scenarios right now, including a series that begins on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.
However, with the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche series going seven games, it seems pretty clear cut that Game 1 would either be Sunday or Monday.
For those wondering on Panthers-Leafs series, there are currently 7 different schedule scenarios in play. So much depends on what happens in Western Conference still. Florida-Toronto could start Saturday, Sunday or Monday, lots of balls up in the air still to figure out.
The NHL wants to avoid putting teams on short notice, especially in the playoffs. With that being said, this series will probably start on Monday.
However, it remains to be seen if the Maple Leafs will respond right away. This is a series that will be difficult from the start, and it go be a blowout.
That said, the Leafs were much better than the Tampa Bay Lightning this season. With some grit, they may just pull off an upset or at least make it close.
Ultimately, we cannot predict the future, but Leafs fans will be hoping for a good series and an Eastern Conference Finals appearance.
