Auston Matthews Exits Game After Aleksander Barkov Almost Carves His Eye Out

A scary moment went down in Game 6 between the Maple Leafs and Panthers as captain Auston Matthews took a stick right to the eye.
It came from Aleksander Barkov and the captain had no choice but to go to the dressing room.
Thankfully, a few moments later, Matthews returned to the ice. For the Leafs, this was a huge sigh of relief as the team was able to get their best player back during a pivotal moment.
It could have been a real disaster for the Leafs, however, Matthews would eventually score in the third period to give his team a 1-0 lead.
This is the most important game of the Leafs season as a loss would completely spell the end of their season.
However, a win would mean a Game 7 on home ice for a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals. It would be a sensational moment for the team.
There is no telling whether or not the Leafs are going to be able to hold onto this lead with about 11 minutes left here.
Joseph Woll has been sensational in this game so far and if the Leafs can keep this up, then perhaps a miracle will occur.
The Florida Panthers are coming hard in these last few moments, and one has to wonder if the Auston Matthews injury could catapult this team.
It's been wonderful to watch the Leafs put in a great effort. Hopefully, they can close it out.
