Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews was not well-received at the 4 Nations Face-Off on Thursday night as Team USA played its first game of the tournament.

Auston Matthews is one of the best players in the entire world and last night, he played his first game with Team USA at the 4 Nations Face-Off.
It was a successful night in Montreal as the U.S. were able to defeat a depleted Finnish team by a score of 6-1.

However, when Matthews himself was shown on the jumbotron at the Bell Centre, fans could not help but drown him in a chorus of boos, much like the one he received the night before.
Despite this, Team USA turned the energy against the crowd by winning in an absolute blowout.
Moreover, Matthews finished the game with one assist while the Tkachuk brothers combined for four goals.
Team USA is clearly very dangerous and that game last night proved it. Now, they get to play Team Canada on Saturday which should be a much tougher test.
Fans are very excited for the USA and Canada tilt as it could very well be a preview of what is to come for the 4 Nations final.
If Canada wins on Saturday, you can't help but feel like it will be because one of their goalies played above their head.
Regardless, the tournament has been fun so far and the crowd energy is definitely infectious.
