Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand has been fantastic against the Toronto Maple Leafs, although the same cannot be said for the rest of his teammates.
Last night, the
Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers played in an incredibly entertaining back and forth game that ended with the Leafs winning 4-3.
Now,
the Leafs have a 2-0 series lead, something that fans never could have expected. The team is playing phenomenally well and it feels like this year is different.
But it isn't just fans who are feeling this way about the Leafs. Opponents like Brad Marchand are also noticing something different about this team.
Brad Marchand praises the Toronto Maple Leafs
After last night's game, Brad Marchand acknowledged how dangerous the Leafs are playing right now and how it is effecting the Panthers in each game.
«It seemed like every time we gave them the opportunity to get above us, they created something or capitalized on it. It shows how dangerous they are. It doesn't take much for them to score. We have to make sure we're pretty much perfect on defensive coverage."
The former Boston Bruins captain also couldn't help but admit there is something very different about this Toronto team.
"They came ready to play this round. We see that."
The team has brought in some grittier guys and head coach Craig Berube has also been a huge factor of making this team viable in the postseason.
However, this series is far from over. They are heading back to Florida for Games 3 and 4, which is the perfect opportunity for the cats to work their way back into the series.
That said, a win in Florida for the Leafs could prove to be end of the series. We cannot wait to see how it plays out.
