With the Toronto Maple Leafs dealing with the fallout from the Anthony Stolarz situation, the Toronto Marlies have signed a forward from the London Knights.
However, beyond the netminder and the NHL Playoffs, life still goes on. For instance, the Maple Leafs organization is thinking about the future.
In fact, on Tuesday, it was announced that the team had signed London Knights forward Landon Sim to a one-year deal. This deal is exclusive to the Toronto Marlies.
Despite being drafted by the St. Louis Blues, Sim never signed his rookie contract. As a result, he was a free agent this summer.
However, after scoring 30 goals and 23 assists with the Knights this season, the Leafs couldn't resist taking a chance on Sim.
"Sim, 20, posted 53 points (30 goals,23 assists), 105 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +29 in 54 regular season games with the London Knights (OHL) during the 2024-25 season.
He has recorded 11 points (9 goals, 2 assists) and 23 penalty minutes in 12 games during the 2025 OHL Playoffs."
In his four seasons with the London Knights, Landon Sim has certainly done a great job of improving and growing into his frame.
The 20-year-old is 5'11 and 185 pounds which makes him a decently-sized forward. Moreover, he has played with
Easton Cowan which is another added bonus.
While there is no telling what kind of pro player he will be, he does have promise and the Leafs are showing some belief in him.
Hopefully, he is able to have a big season with the Toronto Marlies next year and show the big organization what he can do.
