Craig Berube Provides Worrisome Recovery Timeline for Anthony Stolarz

Tonight, Anthony Stolarz will be watching the game from the press box as he recovers from an injury sustained against the Florida Panthers in Game 1.

As everyone knows by now, the goaltender was run into by Sam Bennett who was not penalized or suspended for the move.

Now, Joseph Woll will have to tend the goal, and with a 1-0 lead in the series, the Toronto Maple Leafs are hoping for the best from their backup.

After morning skate today, Craig Berube spoke to the media where he was asked a whole host of questions about Stolarz and his status moving forward.

Berube did not rule out the goaltender coming back into the series. However, he noted that the goalie is recovering. Unfortunately, he doesn't have a release timeline in mind, which is certainly concerning.

There is no point rushing Stolarz back onto the ice, especially when the guy is dealing with a head injury. That is not the kind of thing you want to tempt fate with.

Concussions can be very scary and you never know how they are going to affect someone, especially in the days and weeks following the inciting incident.

All we can do is wish Anthony Stolarz the best right now as he looks to get himself right for the rest of this Leafs playoff run.

Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers will be looking to pounce and to take advantage of the Leafs' misfortunate.
