Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube was a bruiser back in the day and had Sam Bennett injured his goalie, you know there would have been hell to pay.
Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett is hated by all of Leafs Nation right now as he injured
Anthony Stolarz in Game 1 of the second round.
However, based on comments from Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube, that is not going to happen. Instead, the Leafs are going to play their own game.
Craig Berube on Sam Bennett
Having said that, Berube did make some very interesting comments after morning skate on Wednesday. As fans know, he was an enforcer in the NHL and would have been eager to put Bennett in his place had he been on the ice.
Berube expressed as much noting that back in the 90s, Sam Bennett would have been taken care right immediately. He also joked that he himself would have done it.
«When I played, someone would have done something right awayprobably me.»
Tonight, the Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers are battling it out in Game 2 of their series and after the first period, the score is 1-1.
The Leafs are up 1-0 in the series and it really does seem like this is the team's best chance at playoff glory. However, they have to actually win tonight.
A win with Joseph Woll in the net will certainly lend itself well to some confidence moving forward.
Without
Anthony Stolarz, some pundits felt like the Leafs were done. But some big performances by Woll could change that perception.
