Brad Marchand Rips the Toronto Media Apart for Being Too Harsh on the Maple Leafs

Brad Marchand addressed the Toronto media on Sunday night after the Toronto Maple Leafs got absolutely destroyed in Game 7 against the Florida Panthers.
Throughout his career, Brad Marchand has been the ultimate Leafs killer. Every single year, it feels as though he is knocking the Leafs out of the playoffs.
Even with a new team, the Florida Panthers, Marchand still owns the Leafs. We saw this last night in Game 7 as the Panthers destroyed Toronto by a final score of 6-1.
Despite the crushing and decisive win, Marchand still found some time to be complimentary of the Leafs, even when they definitely did not deserve it.

For instance, the Panthers' veteran went after the Toronto media on Sunday night, claiming that the team has been unfairly treated by reporters.
Of course, these comments are in relation to the criticisms leveled at Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews, who have been terrible down the stretch.
«I think if you look at the heat this team catches, it's actually really unfortunate. You know, they've been working & building something really big here for a while, and they were a different brand of hockey this year, and they're getting crucified, and I don't think it's justified.»
While Marchand may find this unfair, Leafs fans feel a whole lot differently about this. After all, the team has not accomplished anything real in the Core Four era.
Overall, the Leafs are chokers, plain and simple. Matthews and Marner have been bad leaders, and last night was a great example of this.
Brad Marchand can run his mouth all he wants, but it is easy to say these things when you already have a Stanley Cup to your name and an additional two Finals runs.
Leafs fans have it hard, and that is not going to change. After a 6-1 loss in a Game 7, the players should expect some harsh critiques.
