Auston Matthews Makes Disgustingly Hypocritical Comments About His Toronto Maple Leafs Teammates

Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs were absolutely horrific on Sunday night as they lost by a score of 6-1 in a Game 7 on home ice.

It was absolutely terrible hockey from start to finish, and this Core Four really needs to sit back and reassess just how bad of a team they have been when it matters.

Matthews and Mitch Marner were particularly shocking on Sunday; however, as you can imagine, there was absolutely zero accountability, once again.

After the game, Matthews spoke to the media, where he laid the blame on his teammates instead of himself.

Yes, that's right, the captain who has one goal in 11-career second-round games had the gumption to say the Maple Leafs had "too many passengers."

Quite frankly, this is the kind of statement that is completely disqualifying of the captaincy. He should be ashamed that this is the commentary we get after such a bad loss.

The Florida Panthers will now play against the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals, and it should be a tight series.

If one thing is for certain, it is that the Hurricanes will put up a much better fight than the Leafs. What we saw in Game 5 and Game 7 was nothing short of disgusting.

Hopefully, this team learns from this, although we aren't so sure that they will given the last decade of playoff failure.
