Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has been trying to get a deal done with Mitch Marner and John Tavares, although many are getting impatient.
Mitch Marner,
John Tavares, and
Matthew Knies are all fantastic players that the Toronto Maple Leafs would love to lock up for many years.

As Treliving spoke to the media on Monday, he was asked about the contract extensions and whether or not progress has been made.
While the general manager does appear hopeful that the new salary cap will give the team some relief, he also made it clear that there are no deals in place.
«Those are things we're always looking at, talking about, and discussing, but there's nothing to report at this moment.
Having guys signed is certainly important because it gives you a clear number. Without them signed, you're just guessing, though you can make an educated guess. But once they're signed, you know exactly what their cap hit is.
We'll keep working on it. Until there's a deal, there's not a deal.»
This is definitely concerning if you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, especially when you consider how Marner and Tavares are part of the core four.
Of course, the core four have yet to have any playoff success, but it is hard to imagine this team being any better off without them.
With Marner looking to secure a deal worth upwards of $14 million per season, the Leafs could be in for some difficult times.
Either way, Brad Treliving is hard at work, and the players are focused on delivering a Stanley Cup this season.
Hopefully, everyone can come together and give Leafs fans what they deserve.
