Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving faced the media today, where he had some interesting takes on his hockey team and the mistakes he's made.
Brad Treliving had a very important press conference today, where he discussed the future of the
Toronto Maple Leafs ahead of free agency.
Overall, the media were very curious about
Mitch Marner and
John Tavares, who are both unrestricted free agents this summer.

One question surrounded Leafs defenseman
Jani Hakanpaa, who was brought in last summer in the midst of a knee injury. In the end, Hakanpaa played two games for the team, and that was it.
There was always risk. We took a swing and it didn't work out.
While Hakanpaa could have been a great player on paper, he just didn't have the dexterity to make it through a week, let alone an entire season.
His NHL career is certainly at risk right now, as no one knows if his knee will ever recover to a playable degree.
He had to skip out on playing at the 4 Nations Face-Off for Finland. Which was heartbreaking. Moreover, you could tell he was emotionally pained by his inability to get on the ice this season.
We wish Jani Hakanpaa the best of luck, moving forward, but we seriously doubt he will ever be in a Leafs uniform again.
