The Toronto Maple Leafs have had a slow start to the NHL regular season, although former head coach Bruce Boudreau doesn't seem too worried about them.

Coming into the NHL season, the expectations for the Toronto Maple Leafs were high despite the fact that they lost Mitch Marner in the offseason.
Unfortunately, the season has been a bit of a struggle for the Maple Leafs so far. Their defense has been a weak point, and the goaltending hasn't been great either.
The offense has taken some time to break out, but it seems like they are finally finding their way. As it stands, the team has a record of 5-4-1, and they have won two in a row.
Overall, the Leafs are in third place in the Atlantic Division, although it is early. Teams like the Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens are above them, but no one knows for sure if this will stand.

Bruce Boudreau drops surprising Toronto Maple Leafs take

Winning the Atlantic Division seems like a tall task this season. While they made it happen last year, asking the Leafs to repeat the feat almost seems impossible.
However, former NHL head coach Bruce Boudreau doesn't see it that way. According to NHL Media on X, the head coach is still predicting that the Leafs take home the Atlantic Division.
This is absolutely a hot take, and we're sure there are a ton of fans out there who disagree with Boudreau's assertion about the Leafs.
However, the head coach has lots of NHL experience, and he has seen plenty of teams experience the highs and lows of an NHL season.
If he believes the Maple Leafs can still ascend to win the Atlantic Division, then perhaps there is something to that.
Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can string some big wins together. After all, they are playing the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight, which presents a large opportunity.
